Propaganda Of The Highest Degree By The Muirani Team. (Philippians 4:6-7).

Quoting the bible to explain the questions that have been raised by Kenyans concerning Kashito’s case is like saying Jesus was a brother to Satan. Who is going to believe that? Maybe fanatical followers. As an ex- pastor, i have a question to “pastor” Muirani. What Paul was telling the Philippians was that, spiritual fitness calls us to be transparent and accountable. This means living in accordance to Gods will and by this i mean telling us the truth about the late Kashito.

Can you tell us something about the late Kashito and stop whining?

Wakenya wanatataka maelezo kamili kuhusu yafuatayo Mzee Muirani; Who cleared his body at the airport? Who was there to receive the body? What caused his death? What were his real names? Was he buried in Sweden? Was he a Kenyan? Was his body cremated before it arrived to Kenya? Who financed his parents trip and how comes the body left before the people that came to pick it? What kind of documents did they have to do the above? What happened at the Kenyan embassy last week when the committee went to beg for free alcohol? How comes the body travelled four days before the people who came to pick it? Hatutaki mafumbo kwa sababu wengi wetu hatuna wakati wa kufumbua hayo mafumbo yako. Tueleze kwa kinaga upaga ni nini imefanyika maana ni wewe uliye shikilia kile  kiti.

From the Muirani-led Committee.

“On behalf of the late David Aquinas Mbithi Ng’ang’a (who was popularly known as Kashitoshito) Fundraising committee, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that, the late Ng’anga’a will be (was) buried today (28 Nov 2008) at Langata cemeteries.

After the memorial service which was held at Bagarmossen Outreach Ministry last Sunday, the parents went home the next day, Monday despite the delays at the airport due to bad weather. Their son’s remains were received in Nairobi by the Lee Funeral Home.

The Committee takes this opportunity to thank God because everything went well according to his plan. We would like to thank also Kashito’s colleagues, friends and well wishers who contributed enormously towards the footing of the bills in order to transport Kashito to his final resting place in Kenya.

The Committee would like also to announce that, the charges of transporting the body home amounted to Sek.46, 000 and since the amount which was raised here was Sek 27,000, the parents with the help of the committee at home and in London, were able to meet the difference and hence the cancellation of the intended fund raising which could have taken place today, 28th Nov.

We thank the Kinuthias for opening their house to all well wishers who mourned or consoled the bereaved family. We thank also the Kenyan embassy here in Stockholm for having audience with some committee members and also for helping in translating police documents.

Kashito’s parents in their own words, found it necessary to travel all the way to Sweden in order to fulfill an earlier invitation by their deceased son who wanted the three of them to visit him next year in June-July. They also said its part of their healing process to see where their son lived in his last days of his life.

Thessalonians 4:13-14.

May God rest the soul of the late David Aquinas Mbithi Ng’ang’a in eternal peace and may the name of our Lord Jesus Christ be Glorified Forever and Ever. Amen”.

Githuku Wa Muirani, Acting Chairperson Kashito Fundraising Committee.

Brutality At Kamiti Prison.

Last week, was a week of hot activities within Stockholm bloggers. It was kind of fascinating to learn that we had a lot of intelligent brainpowers out there who can chip in when a need arises. The intensity of debate was high and very intellectual. If you went to a bad primary school in Kenya, it was easy for you to be left behind wondering what was going on. However, I have to say that we need more of those kinds of debates because they are challenging not only to those who were commenting but also to those who paid attention to the level of discussions. It was obvious that issues overtook personalities. Na hiyo ni maendeleo. Tukae hivyo hivyo.

Apart from the above, some drama was taking place at the Kenyan embassy in Sweden, a new diplomat arrived to help Mrs. Purity Muhindi to handle Kenyans who are stubborn in Stockholm.  On the other hand, Mrs. Purity Muhindi was complaining to her boss in Kenya about Kenyan MPs who arrives in Sweden without notice.  Many other activities took place among Kenyans in Stockholm that we cannot go into right now. For now I would like to draw your attention to what the wardens at Kamiti prison did last week.

Human rights abuse at Kamiti Prison.

It was shocking to see on NTV naked human beings being beaten mercilessly by the wardens just because they had mobile phones in the prisons. With the tight security at the prison, how did all this 350 phones got smuggled into the prison without the wardens’ help?  The prison commissioner Mr. Samuel Osugo must resign to pave way for investigations. He is the man who is in command of all the prisons in Kenya. He must have known all the above before it took place.

There is now consensus that all individuals are entitled to certain basic human rights under any circumstances. The most fundamental of which is the right to life and physical safety. All Human beings need tolerance, mutual respect and human dignity. Have we forgotten our morality and justice to an extend brutality is seen as normal? Some of the victims were tortured to death and many had serious injuries. Thanks to the modern technology, a courageous prisoner risked his life by sending the video to the media.

These are the very people that we are supposed to protect and to ensure that they are reformed by receive some degree of decent and human treatment. To violate the most basic human rights on the other hand, is to deny those prisoners their fundamental moral entitlements. The prisoners in Kenya are treated as if they are less than human beings and undeserving of respect and dignity. The torture of prisoners indicates that we have a major human rights crisis that the Kenyan government and the international community must address as quickly as possible.

I hope the government of Kenya is going to treat the issue as crime against humanity and the criminals must be dealt with seriously to send a clear message to others out there who think that they can take law in there hands. Public authorities must regain control of organized violence like the one we witnessed last week. In the face of such violations, leaders like Raila, Ruto, Namwamba, and other progressive leaders must champion international legal norms and human rights. These human rights are central to the maintenance of civil society and necessary for grounding attitudes of tolerance and mutual respect within our Kenyan communities.

Kenyans must also help by exposing this government’s hypocrisy on the subject of human rights abuse in our country. Kamiti prison is supposed to reform those people and not target prisoners with brutality. They, like everyone else, have certain protection under the law and especially in regards to international laws set up to protect them from such treatments. Most human rights violations in Kenya are done by the government because of the fact that our government is basically corrupt. Kenyan government is one of the most corrupted governments existing today.

It cannot be a coincidence that the Kenyan government chose to ignore the rights of certain persons or groups in our country. Whatever the reasons are for this, it must stop because each person is guaranteed protection under the law and especially those dealing with the protection of their basic human rights, which currently this government seems to ignore.  This is interfering with their basic human rights that are protected under the U.N. Charter under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which everyone is entitled to.

Hongera Bwana Okoth Osewe!

The book, “Raila Odinga’s Stolen Presidency: Consequences And The Future Of Kenya” by Mr.framsida_jpeg1 Okoth Osewe, takes the position that Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, the Presidential candidate of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), won the December 2007 election in Kenya before agents working for Party of National Unity (PNU) stole the vote and installed Mr. Mwai Kibaki as President of Kenya at a secret ceremony at State House Nairobi.

The book gives a detailed account of Raila’s quest for Kenya’s Presidency over the years and pin-points why Hon. Mwai Kibaki, PNU’s Presidential candidate, lost election to Hon. Raila Odinga. The book walks the reader through the intricate and extra-ordinary process of the December 2007 election rigging and examines ECK and other documents related to election results to arrive at the conclusion that Raila won the vote.

The book, which is well researched and which runs over 350 pages, forms compact reading and Mr. Osewe hooks the reader on the subject matter with an engaging writing style as he seeks to provide a deeper insight into the stealing of Raila Odinga’s Presidency and to demolish the concept that the December 2007 Presidential election in Kenya was not rigged in favor of Kibaki.

It is a significant contribution and forms interesting reading to anybody seeking to deepen understanding on Kenya’s dodgy election which plunged the country into crisis, leading to the deaths of an estimated 1,500 Kenyans, wanton destruction of property and the creation of more than 350,000 internal refugees across the country.
