God Is Never Late And Never Early In Answering Prayers.

After reading from Kenyans in Stockholm concerning prayers, I have decided to throw myself in the debate. My four years of leadership and teaching the bible, I saw many dramatic answers to prayer. But I also saw many of my prayers go unanswered and I was not surprised because that is the nature of God. The answered prayers build my faith, strengthened my walk with God, and gave me hope in the midst of perplexing problems. But the silence of God created tension causing me to start doing it my own way. I find God’s silence difficult or sometimes impossible to explain.

Because of this kind of tension, I did a great deal of wrong things, prayers and a great deal of Scripture-searching but sometimes it was waste of time. I wanted to know why the same God who miraculously supplies wealth to the rich members of our society allows the poor members of our society experience grief and tragedy in the midst of our prayers to the contrary. I wanted to know why some of our needs are met so miraculously while other needs are seemingly ignored. Some of my prayers are unanswered up to now.

In the midst of these questions I remain firmly convinced that sometimes God answers prayers. Many of us have also experienced the silence of God. We have echoed the experience of Habakkuk, “How long, 0 Lord, will I call for help, And Thou wilt not hear?”  We share David’s prophetic anticipation of the experience of Christ, “O my God, I cry by day, but Thou dost not answer; and by night, but I have no rest” (Ps. 22:2). What is the secret of answered prayer? Why are some prayers unanswered? The same Scriptures that assure us God will answer prayer also explain why some of our prayers are seemingly unanswered. These passages have taught me to ask many basic questions about my prayers.

The first and fundamental principle of answered prayer is faithfulness in prayer itself. Paul urged the Thessalonians, “pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thess. 5:17-18). Paul exhorted the Ephesians, “And prays in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” (Eph. 6:18a). Christ assured His disciples, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matt. 7:7-8).

If we expect God to answer, we must be faithful in prayer. Yet there is also the wonderful principle of grace that enables God to give us more than we ask. Countless blessings are showered on the Christians every day. Paul expressed this, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20). But it all begins with faithful prayer. Again and again in the Bible the truth is emphasized that prayer must be according to God’s will. Prayer is not a means for us to persuade a reluctant God to do something which is against His better judgment.

Praying in the will of God means that the prayer must be in harmony with what God has revealed to be His plan for the world. Our petitions must be in harmony with God’s holy and righteous character. What we desire from God must be to the best interest of ourselves and others, even though we may not always know what is ultimately best. If we pray in the will of God, we can be sure that God will answer. The Apostle John wrote, “We have this assurance in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us —whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15).

John goes on to say that there are prayer requests that God cannot answer because they are not according to His will and not for our best interest (1 John 5:16). James expressed it, “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures” (James 4:3). Selfish prayers will not be honored by God. Prayer is God’s appointed means to receive what is best for us and others and to realize what Paul called “what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will”. Many times in the experience of those who pray faithfully, God does not say, “No,” but, “Wait.” Sometimes God needs us to wait until we are ready for the answer, or perhaps others need to be made ready. Sometimes a delay is necessary to fit into God’s overall program.

For sixty years Daniel prayed for the return of Israel to Jerusalem, for the rebuilding of the city of God which lay in ruins. It seemed that there was no answer from God. Then Daniel discovered the word of the Lord to Jeremiah, which had said that there would be a wait of seventy years before the captives of Israel could return to their city (Jer. 29:10). With this information, Daniel went to the Lord in passionate prayer. His prayer is one of the great prayers of Scripture. God’s timetable in the Book of Ezra records the return of Israel to its ancient land and capital city. So delay in answering prayer does not mean that God has not heard. (God has returned 50% of power to ODM).

Answered Prayer Is Not a Reward for Perfection!

Prayer is not a reward for perfection, but rather is God honoring His servants who earnestly seek to please Him. James writes, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16b). John expressed it, “Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him” God has promised to answer prayer according to His marvelous grace, according to His infinite power, and in keeping with His infinite love and faithfulness. When prayers seem to be unanswered, we must first ask ourselves if we have met the conditions for answered prayer.

When Paul wrote to Timothy (I Timothy 2:1), he told him that he should offer supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks for all men. “Supplications” are our requests regarding our needs. “Prayers” are any discourse with God, which would include petitions, praise and thanksgiving. “Intercessions” are our pleas to God on behalf of others.” Thanksgiving” obviously expresses our thanks for the multitude of blessings, both physical and spiritual, which we enjoy in this life.

Intercessions, our prayers for others, will include petitions unto God in behalf of many. We intercede for our brethren, our family, our enemies, our rulers, and sick, those who are lost and for elders. Many prayers are prayers of intercession. I would encourage and caution all of God’s people to be regular and fervent in prayer. For some reason, God pointed that we should tell him of our petitions for others, and express to him our gratitude. God knows our petitions and our thanksgivings. Thus, we must simply do what he told us to do -pray!

When I used to lead the Halleluiahs, that’s what I used to tell them and I think it will be good to look at prayers on both side. For those who are going to give thanksgiving this Sunday, I wish them all the best because I did my part long time ago before I left the church. However they should also tell us how they spent the 250.000ksh that they collected in the name of “Kenya Crisis” because people are boiling out there to know where the money went. I was just refreshing my memory.

Failures Of Prayers By Bro. Saidimu Olengais.

Fellow Kenyans, referring to article by my brother Osewe at the Kenya Stockholm blog, asking the so called the Bagamosssen Wafarisayo to give a comprehensive report on the “failures of prayers”. Brother Osewe in his article purports that all our intensive prayers at Bagarmosen Out reach has been all “blabla” failures.  He mocks the Christian society directing and intentionally intimidates the believers by applying some sorts of uncalled oppressive psychological warfare.

I would like to let my informed brother who seams to be lost that the air you are breathing in right now is a gift from God.  The privilege of the silent prayers your soul is engaged in and the time and resources your beloved family, friends and all global human beings are spending praying for you, is enough for the merciful father to save and bless you with life.

We human beings can mock each other but when it comes to the divine power, I strongly condemn any sort of mockery satire and or silly behavior directed to the divine power. We are a descent people, good disciplined citizens who respect the law and love our God. We pray together and help each other in times of need. It is in these gatherings, we learn more about each other’s need including the needs of our brethren’s back at home. There is no devil or devil angels that can stop us from praying our beloved father in heaven. Shetani Ashindwe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

You can take everything but not my faith! Brother Osewe, I would like to let you know that it took me 22 years to find my God!  The path to this position had taken me through a historical moment that you cannot comprehend. I had expected my properly learned brother Osewe to be thinking positive this time around when our souls and physical beings are almost realizing peace from the post election chaos that drowned our nation with deaths, maiming and intimidation of innocent Kenyans in all sectors of life.

Our democratic right has been violated, but due to our strong sense of self determination, peace loving and desire for a better peaceful future, we managed to call upon our God, our brothers from other nations and our own people to help mediate peace talks in Kenya. This time around, we all gathering to experience moments of history writing, when Odinga takes a crown from the thrown formerly reined by his father.

Odinga’s dream is coming to be realized. Isn’t it anything for brother Osewe to be happy about? Kenyans at last experience a Kenya with an amended constitution which will once and for all accommodate the post of a prime minister. Is this not anything to make you smile?  That the Presidents powers will be reduced and the people of Kenya would by the grace of God attain some political bargaining power?

The believers of Bagarmossen, raised money for the victims of the post election. This reports will be provided by the concerned authorities when they are ready. We made a great success. When you visit the books of history in the coming ten years, you will see new names like, ………………a Kenyan Diaspora UHCK……….. in relation to good deeds. Where will you place yours? During this time, we greet each other with the slogan of peace! We will continue saying: PEACE BE WITH YOU BROTHER OSEWE! GOD IS GREAT!

We have all the reasons to thank God over our country Kenya following the signing of power sharing deal between the government and ODM. Pastor Muirani Defends The Kenya-Stockholm Prayer Warriers.

Those who are Christians and believe that Jesus Christ was and is son of God, believes that by praying to our creator, we do communicate with him and we can submit freely all our needs and desires to him and him only. When things go wrong in any country, we do tend to blame the government but in the real sense it’s we as Christians who have failed in our duties to pray for the governments.

Here in Sweden, we are told that, whenever you are in trouble, call 112.Even young children in schools knows about 112. For us Christians, God’s hot line is Jeremiah 33:3-”Call to me and i will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Our key to victory is “Chronicles 7:14-”if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then i will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land”.

Why do we pray? Isaiah 54:17-”no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me, declares the LORD.” What prayers do: Gen. 25:21-”Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebecca became pregnant”. 2Kings 6:18-” As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, “Strike these people with blindness”. So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked” Read also 2Kings 20.

Prayer gives direction: Jeremiah 42:3-”Pray that the LORD your God Will tell us where we should go and what we should do”. Mark 11:23-” I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea”, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he/she says will happen, it will be done for him/her”. James 5:13- “Is any one of you in trouble? He/she should pray.

Is anyone happy? Let him/her sing songs of praise”. Why should we call God? Psalm 145:18-” The LORD is near to all who call on him. To all who call on him in truth”. Psalm 50:15-” and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me”. Psalm 56:9-” Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help, by this I know that God is for me”.

Psalm 25:14-”The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them”. Prayer frustrates our enemies. Micah 7:7-8-”But for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light”. God is doing a new thing in Kenya and to the Kenyan people.

He will hear our cry and he will answer our prayers for peace and stability in our country. It’s through prayer that we do communicate with God and let us all Christians join together and may the name of our Almighty LORD reign supreme all the times. Amen!

Hon. Purity Muhindi Deports Her Cook.

A cook who has been working for the Kenyan ambassador to Sweden Hon. Purity Muhindi has been fired under unknown circumstances. The cook who has been working at the embassy for more than a year is due to be deported back to Kenya on Saturday evening. Since her arrival in Sweden two years ago, Hon. Purity Muhindi has been firing Kenyan workers and instead employing foreigners. It was not very clear what made her to fire the cook but a source told Jamii that the cook has been diagnosed as having diabetes and the government of Kenya cannot afford to pay the bills thus forcing the cook to pack his personal effects and fly back to Kenya on Saturday. Those who are accustomed with the brutalities at the embassy will not be shocked by Muhindi’s position.

When she arrived in Sweden, her first responsibility was to fire a gardener and hence she did not pay him his salary. It is not clear if the cook has been paid his salary or not. This comes just a few months after a Kenyan diplomat was facing deportation under her command. Kenyans in Sweden intervened and saved the diplomat who was ailing. Firing a man in his 50s is brutal given the fact that the situation in Kenya is not stable. However to send someone to Kenya at this particular time is something unthinkable given the fact that Kenya is at a cross line. Firing must be the last resort for Purity to do to her junior staff. It is a sudden and unwarranted firing which undermines her office morals and destroys her institution further. Junior employees must now understand that if others can be fired unexpectedly, they can too.

With no job and no package, the cook will arrive in Kenya poorer than when he left since it is believed that he paid  enormous a mount of money for diagnosis at a Swedish hospital. If the cook will file a complain claiming unjust dismissal, the Kenya embassy in Sweden is going to face an uphill task because this will mean that they have to compensate him for at least one year. The termination of the cook is unjust and it adds another blow to an already tainted embassy.
