Moi and Kibaki Re-Union Is Poisonous To Kenyans.

The government of Kenya under Mwai Kibaki has recycled former president Moi into a government propaganda machine. Moi has launched a campaign group for Kibaki re-election. After his appointment as a special peace envoy to Sudan, Moi has new energy to muscle the ODM group which is the only progressive party in Kenya. The whole project stinks corruption and has the hall-marks of previous and dirty scams linked to both Moi and Kibaki with their suspicious dirty politics of the past.

Majority of Kenyans live in slums. The country has become a “tourist attraction” because it has one of the largest slums in the world. This year, more than 300,000 children missed class one because of lack of schools, teachers and basic equipment such as books, desks, blackboards, dusters, chalks etc.  For Moi to start working with Kibaki to ensure he gets back to lead the country is a demonstration of lack of sensitivity and foresight on the part of the government and its sycophants like Moi. The main driving force that has blinded the Kibaki regime when it comes to sound investment of tax payer’s money is corruption. It is in this light that the Moi/Kibaki project needs to be seen.

Apart from Moi bringing the issue to public attention, there are many other things that Moi and Kibaki have been doing in darkness. Wakenya must refuse this kind of re-union because it´s poisonous to our country. All patriotic Kenyans and progressive MPs must take up the issue as alarming to our democracy. Moi is not a democratic leader and he is not supposed to guide Wakenya into what we see going back to his dark period. MPs who claim to be the people’s watch dogs should resist the Moi/Kibaki re-union project and remind Moi to take a back seat in the country’s politics.

This project is yet another indication that the Kibaki government should suffer a huge and humiliating defeat in the December elections. The degree of corruption we are witnessing today is simply a continuation from where Moi left it and this is another important point which Kenyan voters should note as election campaigns continue. Kibaki must take bus no. 40 back to Othaya and enjoy the fruits of Wakenya that he and his cronies have stolen.

“Thank You Very Much,” Dj Jimmy and Gideon Tells Wakenya And Friends.

Dj. Jimmy and family has sent a message of thanks to the Kenyan community in Stockholm and friends who helped raise funds last week after the family lost their beloved sister. Speaking to Jamii by phone, he said, “Kenyan community in Stockholm, friends and all who supported our family, we are grateful for the good work Wakenya and friends did to raise more than 12,000 kr in a short period of time.”

Speaking to Jamii at the same time, the chairman of the funeral committee Mr. Mark Gaya sincerely appreciated the efforts Wakenya and friends did to come together to raise funds and stand in solidarity with Jimmy’s family. Some of the Kenyans who were present were; Makan Macharia, Betty Otiato, Marcy Brown, Bridget, Cris, Mzee Gerry Midenyo, Nickson Adu, Mark Gaya, Tony Odero, Caro Oyodo and many others. Speaking to mourners, Mzee Midenyo told Wakenya to continue with the same spirit of helping one another in time of crisis. Mzee Midenyo challenged the Kenyan ambassador to Sweden Mrs. Purity Muhindi to support Wakenya by showing up in this kind of gatherings. He continued to attack the Kenyan embassy staff in Sweden for dividing Wakenya.

What Is The Next Step For Speaker Ole Kaparo?

The outgoing Speaker for the national assembly Francis Ole Kaparo is preparing to highjack the newly made Laikipia North District. Unfortunately the minister for justice, Martha Karua’s bill on equal representation was shot down by the ODM opposition a week ago. Kaparo had looked forward to have a constituency of his own(Laikipia North constituency) where he would retire and play passive politics when parliament is dissolved before elections by end of 2007.Ole Kaparo is regrouping the Kaparo and the Putunoi’s family to run a campaign for him to contest for the Laikipia East constituency which is currently held by Mwangi Kiunjuri.

Kampan Godfrey, a “Nairobian” but local villager from Il polei, visited Il polei location to hold a meeting with the local chief and other influential leaders to campaign for Ole Kaparo in the coming election. According to reliable sources, Kaparo wants to go back to politics just to retain his powerful position in the society. For Kaparo, the rule of individualism is all what matters! It is all about him and himself! The society is never mentioned apart from when they owe him some votes! According to report provided by Mukogodo youth, Kampan- ( Kaparo’s personal campaigner), is very unfamous among the Il- Laikipia Mukogodo Maasai due to his negative attitude towards the social-cultural and economic situation of the Maasai society.Sources say that, youth from Il polei and Kimanjo are already regrouping to work against Kampan and his master Ole Kaparo. They know that Kaparo has delivered far less what was expected out of him. Moreover, the Mukogodo people have seen how Kaparo has risen from total poverty to riches beyond any measure.They have also witnesses the fall and suppression of many promising figures from Mukogodo society. This lead any critical mind to wander, why is it only Ole Kaparo who ever managed to succeed from the Mukogodo society? He would have made Kenyan’s political atmosphere ´more friendly and motivating.The marginalized majority are still looking upon the president to consider their plight on social justice like for instance in the case of women representation in parliament, the indigenous marginalized groups, and the poor majority in the slums of our cities.However, the president time might be running out not unless he is given another term to win back the faith of many Kenyans who truly believed in his politics.Do Kenyans dare trust the president another five years? On behalf of my extended family, I would like to thank all Kenyans and friends who have stood by us during and through this time of mourning and other tribulations. The prayer meeting which was held on 10th august was very successful and we did realize 8000kronor which was sent home to help in the funeral arrangements and other expenses.

Jane Kuria and her two daughters, Isabella and Annabelle were buried in their home in Njatha-ini, near Kiambu town. It was a highly emotional ceremony, since in the history of our family, we have never buried so many people in a single day. May the good Lord rest
their souls in eternal peace. The two boys who were hospitalized are doing fine but still in ICU. We do hope and pray to God
that all will be well with them.
